Kashgar, Xinjiang Autonomous Region 新疆维吾尔自治区，喀什市
I arrived in Kashgar 喀什市 and was greeted by a stark difference in culture. One doesn't arrive in Kashgar and think "this is China". Kashgar is Uyghur country 维吾尔族 with a unique culture clearly distinguishable from that in Han China.
I stayed in old town throughout my time in Kashgar. Buildings are unique with the clay-brick homes and beautiful door frames.

The people were great though. I tried to take a video of dinner at an outdoor BBQ spot. Such good food.
I spent a cold Saturday afternoon people-watching from the main square. This mosque is the largest in China and is where people naturally congregate.
