Ah, time for a little reunion of sorts.
Paul, myself, Ben, Tim, Moriah, and Matt all were able to get overlapping time off, so we gave mom a call to join us. At first she wasn't all too keen on the idea of a family reunion. After quite a bit of initial hesitation she caved and reluctantly drove down to Sunriver, Oregon to meet us.
Ha! Yeah, right. Truth be told, Mom was instrumental in making this happen. She was the one that rounded us up and made sure we could all make it. I'm guessing she spent countless hours thinking about games, activities, food, and drinks all so we could enjoy being together. And I'm pretty sure she supplied the wiffle balls and bat (and almost everything else necessary for a fun week).
Paul did a nice job picking out a huge cabin, and we spent our days playing games and floating down the Deschutes River.
Dinner prep chaos. Everyone rotated Sous Chef responsibilities with two handpicked assistants. I think when Matt was sous chef, he just picked Paul and I as his assistants so we'd do everything. Because Matt is just a little kid. I think he is 7 years old now.
Dinnertime.
My favorite sister!
And floating time...
We made it! Took us a while to calibrate the water's speed and our various floatation devices. I think we made three runs down the river. All were fantastical.
I think this was Matt's favorite game. We found a smooth, clean amphitheater in Sunriver which doubled as an ideal wiffleball stadium. 3v3. Brown eyes vs. Blue eyes. Below are three amazing videos.
My athleticism in center field.
Tim striking out Ben.
Paul pitching to me and Matt showing off.
And when this nonsense was over, we went straight to spikeball. I think it is a game that Matt invented in Hawaii.
And a boring video of us playing. Ben shirtless, Matt covered up, me in blue, and Tim wearing Tim stuff.
Near the end of our week, we all drove up to Newberry Volcano to play around on East Lake.
Brotherly love.
And a quick visit to a nice waterfall on our way out.
Nice shot, Paul!
And the only proper way to end Central Oregon Family Fun Time is to see Grandma!
Mom, Grandma, and I went to hang out with Cuzco and his llama friends.
Love you, Grandma! A sweet lady.
And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Love you mom! Thanks for making this happen.
