Maui

Updated: Apr 26, 2020

Hawaii, United States.

After my Silk Road trip I went back to the US for a bit to breathe some fresh air and see family and friends. My first stop was to see family in Maui. The sunsets always seemed to be beautiful from Mom's place.

Matt with the clutch shot! I was on the phone with Parker when I hear a baby bird fall from its nest just above where I was sitting. Matt was inside doing homework when he noticed it fall and took a quick photo with his phone. The bird and I exchanged greetings then I put it back.

Tim hooked us up with a great deal to go whale watching. Myself, Matt, Mom and Tim.

Nearing dusk while on the whale watch, looking at the northwestern section of Maui.

The conclusion of an awesome afternoon on the water with Mom, Matt and Tim.

Myself, Tim and Matt. Super terrible photo.

Matt, Tim, and Dad on a hike.

A few days later Tim and I took a solo cruise around the island.

Nearing the end of my six weeks in Maui, Tim, Matt, Mom and I went to play disc golf. Matt crushed all of us. Tim humbly bowed to Matt's dominance.

This is the view of where I stayed. Mom was running an awesome Airbnb with four different units, and I'd bounce around to whatever room wasn't occupied. This was near the end of the six weeks before returning to 'the mainland', as they call it.

I recall Hawaii was awesome and relaxing. After an intense Silk Road trip, Maui was the ideal spot for sitting back and resting for a while. While I saw some confusion by European Americans who, for some reason, called themselves 'local Hawaiians' it was still a great place to be. I'm excited to return for another visit.
